What is the Fourth Beast in Daniel?

2/04

“After this I kept looking in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrifying and extremely strong; and it had large iron teeth. It devoured and crushed and trampled down the remainder with its feet; and it was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns.” (Daniel 7:7)

Then I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on his horns were ten diadems, and on his heads were blasphemous names. (Revelation 13:1)

The Fourth Beast in Daniel’s vision is the First Beast coming up out of the sea in the book of Revelation.

From the time the king of Babylon dreamed of the “great single statue” forward, when human history has come to the era of “Ten Toes,” we have come to the Last Days. And this is the era that is marked by the Fourth Beast in Daniel’s vision.

The prominent character of this era is: its head has “ten horns.”

The root derivation of “horn” in Hebrew is associated with a verb which means “to shine.” The number “ten” represents fullness and test, also bearing a meaning of “returning to the starting point.” Therefore, isn’t the era before us full of flashing here, there and everywhere?

Since the computer entered human life, everything from basic necessities to flying to outer space, man’s intelligence and skill have been vividly and thoroughly displayed. Man’s consciousness of self-importance and man’s confidence and determination that “we will overcome” has never been lifted up to such a “shining” extent as today.

However, how many people are able to look past this “shining” curtain and actually see the other side, a darkness without limit and an abyss without bottom?
